The property is situated in the townland of Moygara, famous for Moygara Castle, dating from 12th century. It is beside Mullagh an Ti mountain, near the village of Monasteraden, beside Lough Gara. Lough Gara is the site of many crannogs and a popular spot for fishing.

The nearest shopping village is that of Gurteen, which is known as "Coleman country" after the famous Irish traditional musician, Michael Coleman. There are many pubs in Gurteen, which are famous for Irish music seisuns at weekends. Nearby are stables with horse riding, fishing on Lough Gara and many other amenities within reasonable driving distance. Any amount of golf courses within 30 miles.
